'Tis the Season!

It is quite possible that Macy had the healthiest "gingerbread" house at the Auberry Library's Annual Gingerbread House Event.

Only because she ate all the candy.

I don't have a picture where she's not eating the candy.
This was me all night, "MA-CY. STOP EATING THE CANDY!!"
It fell on deaf ears apparently.

A Day by the Bay

Two weeks ago, I (yes, this is Steve blogging so we'll get that out of the way right now) received a call from the 49ers marketing department calling to see if I'd like to participate in their "Halftime Blitz" show during halftime of the 49ers/Jets game on December 7th. After verifying that it wasn't a prank call, I was pumped to learn that not only would I get to be part of the halftime show, but that I'd get:

a) To invite two friends to be part of my team
b) A free parking pass
c) 3 tickets to the 49ers alumni tailgate party - unlimited food and drinks!
d) 3 tickets to the game itself
e) A chance to win $100 49ers gift card each and a bag full of 49ers swag

Much props to Ben who sent me the link to sign up for the chance to be part of this competition, and the third member of our team was lifelong friend Max Wyatt. Our task was simple...I started with the ball at the 20 and punted to Max, who then took the ball and threw it down the field to Ben, who had to kick it through the uprights before the other team (who was trying to do the same thing) completed the task.

Ben's brother brought along a video camera to record the event - link will be posted here once I get a copy of it! Among the highlights of our day:

1) Pregame feast where 49ers owner John York came over to our table to thank us for coming out and supporting the team.
2) Going down on the field with 2 minutes left in the 1st half and standing mere yards away from the Jets players.
3) Getting our names announced to the crowd and getting some love on the jumbotron!
4) Winning the competition and all the glory the comes along with winning (not to mention the $100 gift card and some great free gear)!
5) Watching the 49ers dominate the Jets from start to finish, winning 24-14.

Yeah, it was a good day!

Dell, you suck.

A lot of people have asked me if some of the people that comment on my blog are really my friends.
My answer is yes.
I may have never met some of them face to face, but yes, they are my friends.
One of my friends is having a Dell nightmare right now.
Head on over to her blog
and read about the crap Dell Computers has put her through.
It. Is. Wrong.
And, if you feel so inclined, pass the word along about Dell's customer service.
I hope something gets resolved for you Kristen.

Gobble Gobble!

Happy Turkey Day!
Thought I'd share what's for dessert (after breakfast) at Lloyd Mountain for Thanksgiving.
Got the turkey idea from Kelly at Writing the Waves of Motherhood here.

Here are the little gobblers.

Some fun with icing.
It was late, I was tired.
This was the result:

And my personal favorite...

The chocolate flower turd.

Happy Thanksgiving.
What are you thankful for?

Pie in the Sky

Our church held its annual pie auction.

Macy's pies yielded some serious cash and we were super excited!

Stuck in the Mud Pie= $20.00

Apple Caramel Angel Wings Pie= $32.50

Cherry Cordial How do you Do?= $42.50

Grand Total: $95.00 for ACC's youth Mexico Trip!

We walked away with two of our own.
Peanut Butter Pie & Auberry Chocolate Silk (we ate a few bites during the auction!)

They are priceless! (30 was our auction #, not the price)

Bakers in Training

Macy and her friend Taryn had a playdate today to make pies for our church's pie auction on Sunday.
They were too funny.
Hopefully their pies score some serious cash-o-la for the fundraiser.

macy, the camera thief

lookie lookie what i found when i uploaded pictures to my computer. looks like someone had fun.

Fellowship of the Pink

I have no pictures of this exciting event.
I hosted my very first

:Girls Night Out:

It was amazing to have such good friends over for some good food, fellowship, and soy candle presentation.

The night started with Pomegranate Cosmopolitans, and Raspberry Sundress (Raspberry Sorbet and 7-up) Stuffed Shell Pasta, Salad, and Toasted Brie Baguettes.

We laughed...and laughed, and sniffed candle smells while Jake concocted some soy candle goodness.

My house smelled like Pier One.

I promise to take pictures next time.

The fairy who "tinkers."
Not "tinkles"..."tinkers."
Seriously people.

First...Macy dressed as "Tink" for Halloween.

Then, we had a "Tink" party to debut the new movie with a few friends.

Fun, fun, fun.

Happy Harvest

Sorry.....been a little busy these days. I'm going to try and recap whats been going on the last month or so in a few posts.

Forever and Ever...

The setting: Driving home in the car after dance class.

Number of yawns: 3 (including one from Zach.)

Topic of Conversation: Random

The dialogue:

Macy: Hey, Mom. (very typical starter for us these days.)

Me: Yeeeeeeeesssss? (very typical response from me these days too)

Macy: (Big sigh.)

Me: (Internal big she going anywhere with this?)

Macy: I love you.

Me: (heart melting)
I love you too.
(another big sigh, wishing and praying that this part of our relationship will stay, forever and ever.)

The funniest joke ever...

Macy: Hey mom! Hey mom! Wanna hear a joke?

Me: Yeah, uh okay. (a joke? since when does she tell jokes?)

Me: (Stunned. Quizzical? THEN...Hysterically laughing, thus egging Macy on further.)

Macy: Hey! Wanna hear another one?

Me: ABSOLUTELY. (I'm literally rolling around laughing...)

Me: Go tell daddy!

Macy proceeds to run in the kitchen to tell her daddy.
I hear silence.
Please laugh Steve, please.
Oh, thank goodness.

Approx. 10 minutes friend Sam calls on the phone as I am starting this post...
I'm still laughing.
I have Macy tell her the "jokes."

She asks if she missed something.

No, not really.
Clearly, we need a little help in the "punchline" department.

*Editor's Note: Today is the first day I have felt the freedom to belly laugh without the fear of shooting vomit out my nose. We have all been sick since Friday with the stomach flu, hence my absence in the "blog-o-sphere." Her jokes were the perfect medicine. I feel so much better.

The Great Pumpkin

Yesterday we traveled to Cobb Ranch to visit the Pumpkin Patch.
Lots of preschoolers.
Oodles of fun.
