Introducing....Monday Meals!!!

Howdy Blog friends!
I've decided that I need some new recipes! Monday Meals is designed to help me (and everyone who reads this blog) with some new eats. Please post your favorite recipe, or link to your favorite recipe in the comments section. I'll pick a winner each week with the most interesting or yummy recipe to be crowned "Cheeky Chef." (I'm working on a cool award picture for you to post on your blog!) If you are "borrowing" a recipe from somewhere, please give credit where credit is due! Happy cooking!

I'll go first.

Steve's mama (Oma) visited this weekend and made us some yummy "Ritzy Chicken." I love the flavors in it, and most importantly, I now love how simple it is to make.

Ingredients:
3# boneless, skinless chicken (cut into strips/cubes)
1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 sleeve of Ritz Crackers crunched up
1/2 stick of Butter

(* Oma buys the "Black and Blue" Chicken from our local Meat Market so it's already got some seasoning and "liquid" to it...I'm pretty sure it's just black pepper and blue cheese dressing, but I'm not positive)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Spray the bottom of a Pyrex pan with Pam spray.

Place cut up chicken in the pan.
Pour soup over the top (mix in)
Melt butter in microwave.
Sprinkle crumbled Ritz on the top.
Drizzle melted butter over the top of the crackers.

Bake for approx. 45 minutes or until chicken is cooked through! Enjoy!

Yup, it's that easy.
Let me know what you have on the menu this week!

Found some GREEN in a picture/story her daddy made years ago!
Awwwwww.

Too cool in GREEN.

Building blocks, can you spot the GREEN?

Hip Hip Hooray for GREEN day and for a fun play day with Oma!

"Mellow" Yellow???

I had great aspirations that the color yellow would really bring upon "mellowness" in our household. It couldn't have been further from the truth. I almost didn't blog about "yellow" because today was such a forced, "let's have fun with this!" day.

Luckily, after dinner, with a little help from daddy, "Yellow Day" was saved. In all honest bloginess, today consisted of me literally growling at my child to pulllleaaaaaaaase take a nap, a moment where I hung my head in my hands and a lonely little tear rolled down my cheek, and salvation when my mom came up to visit and rocked my "yellow" kid to sleep. Sweet Jesus. Thank you for mothers. Amazing what a little nap will do.

We are again all smiles in the Lloyd household. This is reality folks. We are not a perfect blog family, and seriously, I have no super powers. I do activities with my kid to stay sane and to give us some structure for our day. She is so smart and needs to be engaged in activities. Rainbow Roundup was (is) what we look forward to in the day because it gives us something to focus on...otherwise, it could quite possibly be hours upon hours of any princess movie, Dora, Blues, Backyardigans, or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It makes me feel like I'm trying to do something with her instead of stickin' her in front of the t.v. Don't get me wrong, we frequent the beauty of brainless t.v.

Hold on to your hats because tomorrow is "GREEN DAY" with her Oma.

Sportin' her YELLOW digs.

Some YELLOW corn with dinner.

YELLOW (golden) raisins for dessert.

Making our YELLOW collage.

Hunting for Red "June"

Today kicked off our 7 days of "Rainbow Roundup."

RED was the theme for the day. Tomorrow will be orange, and the following day yellow, and so on and so forth.

We collected and colored RED things

We hunted for RED all over the house, at Java Time, and outside.

We dumped in quarter after quarter just to find a RED gumball.

We made RED jello (and added cool whip to the center!)

We picked out RED things to wear.

Grandma even helped out!

YEAH FOR RED!

And HOO-RAY to our FRESNO STATE BULLDOGS ON THEIR WIN TONIGHT AGAINST GEORGIA!
19-10!!!!

The Princess Diaries II

Obviously, my daughter knows me all too well.
I found this quiz on The Limby's Blog. I thought, I MUST find out what Disney Princess I am! The results are in people.
Like I said, my daughter knows me all too well.

You Are Snow White!

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

Sunday Donut Smiles

These are easy-smeezy.

Get a pack or two of your trusted ole' Pillsbury Dough Boy biscuits.
(Even the store brand would be yumm-o, I bet.)

Form them into a donut-like shape by stickin' your finger in the middle of the biscuit and pulling gently around.

Toss them (gently now folks, this is hot oil we are talking about here) into your Fry-Daddy or some other type of frying contraption. (A regular pot of hot oil will suffice.)

Fry them until they look "golden" brown.

While they are still hot, either dip into sugar, frost, sprinkle, or do whatcha' like to the tops of these guys.

You could even leave them plain. What a concept.
:)

Happy Sunday Smiles to you and yours!

H-O-T

Post for the day...no better word than hot.

Zach's 2 week appointment was today. Dr. said he looked "hot." Just kidding. He said he looked great. He's a whopping 8 lbs. Taking a baby out in the Fresno heat is just wrong. There really should be a law against it.

It was hot.

Tried to pick up Steve's car from Costco (he got new tires whoot whooot!) He took it in at lunch time. I was there at 5 to pick it up. Still hadn't even been put on the rack.

Can anyone say hot?
Cuz I was, in the mean kinda way. The technician went out to get the car as I was leaving.

He KNEW I was hot.
I stopped him in the parking lot to find out when I could get the car, and he realized that the tires that were special ordered were the wrong ones. Add some degrees to the temperature please. Steve had the receipt. I had to drive to Steve's new office to pick him up because he had the "receipt," right?
Wrong.
He had the paperwork, but never received the receipt. More degrees here people. Returns took forever. Cool down the temp a bit, because the new tires were cheaper.
Score.
1 hour later, new tires on my hubbies car.
Praise the Lord.

At this point I'm hot.
Loaded the kids in the car. Fed Zach for what seemed like the millionth time today.
He's tired of being in Fresno.
Macy is tired of Mommy being fussy.
Steve's in a button up shirt.
The whole "fam damily" is hot.

We hit up the Shop and Go. It's cool inside. Ahhhh....big waters and a cup of ice. This is my flushed face waiting at the Shop and Go.
Can you see the "I'm over the edge" look in those eyes??

Yup. Over the edge too. And, need I mention...HOT?

He is actually saying, "Why are you taking a picture of this?
My response: "Because today is soooooo blog worthy."
(editor's note: you know you are blog obsessed when you
look at events in your life and ask, "is this bloggable?")

Finally we head for the big "family time" destination of the day. I've been begging to go to Farmer's Market.

But man, it's HOT.
We race through like we're on one of those tv game shows where you have only so many minutes to get as much crap in your cart as possible. We won the grand prize today.
30 minutes: shopping, a feeding, and a diaper, and we were outta there.
Quick family time, cuz it was....everybody now.....
....HOT!
Looking at actual honeycomb.
Macy was smitten because she adores honey sticks and is always
asking where honey comes from.
(at this point i adore this question, because it could
sound like this instead, "mom where do babies come from?")

What could be better? Honey stick and a bag of mixed cherries. Life is good.
Even if it's HOT.

Now that's some good lookin' er, I mean "hawt" lookin' food!

The Princess Diaries

Tell me, anyone...is your child obsessed with ALL things princess?

Mine is.

More specifically, she is completely enamored with Cinderella.
She stays in character for as long as my sanity will let her.
I am often Snow White.

Tonight I begged to just be Mommy.

The funny thing is, she's not so crazy about the idea of "Prince Charming."
At first I thought, no problem...I don't want her boy crazy at age 3.
However, she has set her sights on "Prince Wrinkle" (from the off humor book Cinderhazel)
This afternoon she even told me she was going to kiss him.
Yuck.

So, I'm wondering how long this princess thing is going to last.

It could be worse.
She could like snakes and spiders I guess.
