And then suddenly it was Halloween and I remarked, "How is it already Halloween?"
And it was over just like that.
Here's our recap:
First we attended Steve's work family picnic. The kids had a great time playing and enjoying the fall weather.
Trader Joe's received their loot of pumpkin inspired foods, so of course I had to stock up.
Then it was my brother's birthday and we ate delicious Lebanese food and gorged on homemade pies.
We were invited to a darling Early Halloween Birthday Party where the kids got to dress up.
Macy dressed up as Audrey Hepburn.
And Zach was of course a Dodger baseball player.
At school some of the teachers participated in "Spooking" each other... one trick and one treat for the month of October. I happened to get a die-hard Giants fan. So, of course I had to trick her by decking out her speech room in all things Kansas City.
And then I got spooked, by Macy's teacher from last year, who ALSO happens to love the Giants. I wanted to gag a little all day, but the kids were super excited about it and loved that the teachers have a good sense of humor.
And while Steven participated in one of his bucket list goals, the Tough Mudder, I learned how to make a banana cream pie. We all have our passions.
Our school encouraged us to dress up for Red Ribbon Week. I forgot to take pictures of our crazy socks on Monday, but we did get a few days captured.
Sports Team Day
(Macy wore a Royals shirt simply for the reaction)
Super Hero Day
(Buzz Lightyear, Z-Power, and Butterfly Girl)
Friday was Halloween, and we had a great time dressing up. Sadly, Macy wasn't feeling well so she was quarantined in the library for the day.
Zach dressed up as the Blue Power Ranger
Macy's Auntie Jamey made her a Madeline Costume. She's so cute I can hardly stand it!!
I dressed up as Camilla Cream from David Shannon's book, A Bad Case of Stripes.
One of my darling Third Graders paid me the biggest compliment ever...
She wanted to be a librarian for Halloween!!
Of course I had to assist in helping her pull together her costume.
Seriously delighted my heart!
Lorraine, my stellar volunteer surprised me by dressing up as Dr. Cricket (another character from the book) and brought Camilla some "pills"... What she really needed were LIMA BEANS!
Here we made our TK craft project from the book, "Go Away, Big Green Monster!"
You thought Hottie McHotpants didn't dress up?
Well he did.
Second year in a row he's a doctor.
Tell him it's time to change it up.
Instead of trick-or-treating (the kids weren't feeling well)... Steve and I had a hot date night in the press box at Sierra. He was announcing while I watched the football game like a REAL game watcher helping him spot. (If you know me at all you know well that Football and I are NOT BFF's.) It was a true act of love. Actually, I had a great time and enjoyed the game in the rain.
i amand I blog instead of scrapbook.
